Comb Assistant Jig Instructions

Tools Needed:
– One Deep or Medium Langstroth plastic foundation frame (plastic foundation removed) – New frames are advised; used frames can be used but may require cleaning  to fit.
– Set of Comb Assistant Jig Pieces(6).

Assembly Notes:
– Using glue is not recommended unless The Comb Assistant fits very  loosely inside the frame.

Kit Includes:
4 – Corner Pieces
2 – Middle Pieces

Step 1: Install the side pieces into the Comb Assistant Jig pieces.
Note: The corner pieces should face inward with a single side inserted and the middle jig should have 2 pieces as pictured.

Step 2: Slide the top and bottom Comb Assistant pieces into the corresponding jig pieces to form 2 boxes that are attached in the middle.

Step 3: Insert the center cross bracing.
Note: for the Deep Langstroth the Bee image should be on the horizontal piece and the piece with no label should be vertical

Step 4: The Comb Assistant should stand freely on its own at this step.
Place the empty deep frame over the already assembled pieces.  Gently push the frame onto The Comb Assistant.

Note: The Frame should be sitting on top of the Jig Piece at this step.

Step 5: Flip the entire assembly over to ensure the Comb Assistant Jig is laying on top of the frame.

Step 6: Push down on the wooden Comb Assistant frame.
Note: This should allow the Jig pieces to pop off.

Step 7: Insert the 8 wedges into the eight slots. Be sure that they seat  fully. (There should only be approximately 1/8″ of the wedge exposed.)
